Greenbox Sites

A limited number of greenbox sites are located throughout the County for use by the residents of the County. They are for the disposal of limited quantities of household waste. Household waste means those items that can be reasonably expected to be generated from within a home by the day-to-day operation of the household.

Most greenbox Sites are currently available for use 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

All items must be placed inside the dumpsters. Items may not be left on the ground.

The following may not be disposed of at Greenbox Sites:
  • construction materials or debris such as timbers, brick, metal rods, shingles, and concrete
  • appliances, bicycles, lawn mowers, and other metal objects
  • furniture or other bulk waste
  • dead animals and fowl
  • trees, brush, stumps, dirt, and other debris from land clearing, road building, and similar activities
  • automobiles, trucks, construction equipment, and similar vehicles
  • tires
  • sewage sludge
  • ashes, coals, and embers from solid fuel fired devices
  • hazardous materials such as lead acid batteries
  • used motor oils, anti-freeze or other liquid wastes
  • pressurized containers such as propane tanks
