New for 2010-Changes to the number of Personal Property tax installments and motor vehicle decal display requirements will become effective in 2010. See the example Personal Property bill with instructions. Personal Property taxes will be billed semi-annually on the same schedule as Real Estate taxes. Also the requirement to display motor vehicle decals on personal property has been eliminated. See the FAQ. New! Airport/Navy Meeting! The Accomack County
Airport had a meeting with the U.S. Navy to discuss the possible use of Accomack
County airport by U.S. Navy for training. You can listen to the meeting by
clicking here. Green Infrastructure Study! The nonprofit Green Infrastructure Center (GIC), located in Charlottesville, developed a study of Accomack County’s green infrastructure resources. Green infrastructure is the interconnected network of waterways, wetlands, woodlands, and wildlife habitats; parks, and other conservation lands; working farms and forests; and other open spaces that support native species and natural resource based industries, sustain air and water resources, and contribute to health and quality of life. The Green Infrastructure Study provides information that Accomack County can use to determine how and where to grow, what to conserve, and where to recreate.
