Accomack County is currently recruiting for a full-time Lead Data Technical Specialist in the Department of Real Estate Assessment. The position is responsible for performing technical data maintenance and supports the department by ensuring the integrity of the data and systems utilized for the appraisal and assessment of real estate valuation. This is accomplished by performing upper level lead technical support for the CAMA system, and its interfaces with other County department systems, SQL queries and report writing as well as supervising office based staff. In conjunction with the IT department, the work involves configuring current systems, conducting needs assessments, evaluating new systems, and developing functional specifications/scope for technology projects. This position serves as Lead tech for the implementation of new software systems and upgrades for the department, creating web based forms and documents, user acceptance testing plans as well as developing documentation and training for other department users. This position reports to the County Assessor, and works closely with the Lead Appraiser, to provide oversight and supervision of the department in the absence of the County Assessor.
Minimum qualifications are: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, MIS (Management Information Systems) or closely related field; supplemented by three (3) to five (5) years previous experience that includes relational databases, software configuration, data analysis and design, project management; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; prior supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Preferred qualifications would include experience with real estate law and property titles, ability to use GIS software and ability to perform statistical analysis. Experience with a Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) software a plus. Satisfactory completion of a criminal history and DMV records checks are required prior to employment.
