UPCOMING ELECTION NEWS
The November 6, 2018 General / Special Election is fast approaching. The voters in Accomack County will have the opportunity to help decide who will be elected to the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives beginning in January 2019. Other issues on the November ballot are two proposed Constitutional Question, the unexpired term of the Commissioner of Revenue and four towns will also be electing a mayor and 6 council members, Bloxom, Onley, Melfa and Painter.
Important dates to consider concerning the November 6th Election: Absentee voting begins on September 21st for persons who will not be able to go to the polls on Election Day, you may apply online or call us for how to vote absentee. The last day to register to vote for persons not currently registered is October 15th and that is also the last day to make any changes to your current voter registration.
You may vote Absentee by mail or in-person here at the Registrar's office at 23312 Courthouse Ave. in Accomac. The last day we are able to mail AB's out is October 30th and the last day for in-person AB is November 3rd by 5:00pm.
To check on your Voter Registration or to see where your voting precinct is located, you may go to the Department of Elections web page at https://www.elections.virginia.gov/ , call us or come by the Registrar's office and we will be happy to help.
