TUESDAY NOVEMBER 5, 2019
On November 5th, voters in Accomack County will have the opportunity to vote for our local Constitutional Officers, Board of Supervisor members, School Board members, two Soil and Water Directors and our Virginia Senate and House of Delegates representative to the General Assembly.
The constitutional offices up for election are, Commonwealth Attorney, Commissioner of Revenue, Sheriff and the Treasurer. Voters will also be electing their member of the Board of Supervisors as well as School Board member from the prospective nine districts in the county. All voters vote for the Constitutional offices, General Assembly representative and the Soil & Water director’s through-out the county, supervisors and school board member as elected from the district in which they live.
Here are some important dates to remember: If you are not currently registered to vote or need to change any information on your registration, this must be done by October 15, 2019, after the 15th the books will be closed until after the November 5th election. If you are unable to vote in person on the 5th, you may apply for an Absentee Ballot until October 29th by mail and November 2nd in person. Application for Absentee Ballots can be found on line at the Department of Elections web site www.elections.virginia.gov or by calling the office of Voter Registration and Election in Accomac at 757-787-2935 or 757-824-0525.
