INVITATION FOR BID #705
The County of Accomack, VA is soliciting sealed BIDS for work to be performed at the Old NASA Ferry Dock located at the end of Pierce Taylor Road (Rt. 730, near the village of Assawoman). The work consists of the demolition of the existing concrete boat ramp and its replacement with a new concrete boat ramp to be reconstructed in the same location as the existing ramp. Work will also include access channel dredging to the main channel as shown on the plans and in accordance with the COE and VMRC permits. Work shall include all: materials, labor, dewatering, appurtenances, and incidentals for a complete and functional boat ramp installation.
Sealed BIDS will be received at the Finance Office, 23296 Courthouse Avenue, Suite 204, POB 620, Accomac, VA 23301, Attn: Darlene C. Burton, Procurement Manager, 757-787-5710, in writing, no later than 2:00 p.m. according to the official clock in the Finance Office, on Thursday, December 7, 2017, and then opened at said office and read aloud. BIDS received after such time shall be returned unopened.
A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the project site.
Each BID must be submitted in a sealed envelope and plainly marked on the outside as “IFB 705 OLD NASA FERRY DOCK PROJECT PHASE II” and the envelope should bear on the outside the name of the BIDDER, address, and Contractor’s license number for Virginia.
Contract Documents may be examined at the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, 23296 Courthouse Avenue, Suite 204, Accomac, Virginia 23301.

Withdrawal of Bids shall be according to procedure § 2.2-4330 of the Code of Virginia, as amended. BIDDERS must be licensed as a Contractor in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the Bidder’s attention is directed to the requirements of Title 54.1, Chapter 11, of the Code of Virginia.
