 Building Alteration – Sawmill Park Annex Building

The County of Accomack is seeking sealed bids from qualified Virginia licensed contractors for the “Building Alteration” (Level 2) of the existing Annex Building at Sawmill Park, 24387 Joynes Neck Road, Accomac, VA 23301. The existing 1,655 +/- S.F building previously housed the County’s Parks and Recreation Department. It is now being re-purposed to serve as the County’s Voter Registration Office. It will provide expanded access for the public, especially during early voting in Virginia. Alterations will be made to existing doors, windows and some walls.   Plans include the addition of some new walls. Two new vestibules are being added along with a refurbishment of cabinetry and casework, wall and floor treatment upgrades and lighting refurbishment. This project also includes HVAC unit replacement and concrete work.

There will be a mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at 10:00 AM at the project site.  Contractors desiring to bid must be represented at this meeting.

 Sealed bids may be delivered to the Accomack County Administrator’s Office, 23296 Courthouse Ave., Suite 203, Accomac, VA 23301 or may be mailed to the Accomack County Finance Department, c/o Lucy Huffman, P.O. Box 620 Accomac, VA 23301 until Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 3:00 PM.  Immediately thereafter, all bids received by the due date and time will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Board Chambers on the first floor of the County Administration Building, Suite 104.   (See Addendum 2)  

Withdrawal of Bids shall be according to procedure § 2.2-4330 of the Code of Virginia, as amended.  Bidders must be licensed as a Contractor in the Commonwealth of Virginia, as required, and the Bidder’s attention is directed to the requirements of Title 54.1, Chapter 11, of the Code of Virginia.

The County reserves the right to reject any and all bids, or to contact any Bidder prior to award for explanations or clarifications.  The County does not discriminate against any Bidder on any basis.
