Northern Landfill Expansion
Sealed bids for the Accomack County Northern Landfill Expansion IFB #733 REBID will be received by the County of Accomack, represented by Ms. Lucy Huffman, Procurement Specialist, at the Accomack County Administration Building, 23296 Courthouse Avenue, Suite 203, Accomac, VA 23301 (at the concierge desk) until 12:00 p.m. local time, on Thursday June 3, 2021. Bids may also be mailed to the Accomack County Finance Department, P.O. Box 620, Accomac, VA 23301. At 3:00 p.m. all bids received by the due date and time will be opened publicly and read aloud via “zoom meeting.” Interested persons may join the live bid opening by contacting Ms. Huffman at lhuffman@co.accomack.va.us to obtain login information. Bids received after the due date and time set for receipt of bids will not be considered and will be returned unopened.
The work includes but is not limited to: earthwork; erosion and sediment control measures; construction of base liner system and leachate collection system, installation of a rain cover, construction of leachate pump station and forcemain, installation of internet pump station monitoring system, construction quality control, and an as-built survey. Bids shall be on a unit quantity basis.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held via “Zoom” on Wednesday, May 19th, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. Contractors desiring to bid must be represented at this “Zoom” meeting. Contractors who wish to visit the project site (North Landfill - 9400 Cutler Ln, New Church, VA 23415) should contact Greg Duncan, Deputy Director of Public Works/ Solid Waste at 757-789-9232 or 757-710-7092.
Each Bid shall be accompanied by Bid Security as described in Section 00100 - Instructions to Bidders, Article 1.7., per the County of Accomack’s “General Terms and Conditions and Instructions to Bidders”, Paragraph 23 – Bid Bond. The Successful BIDDER will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds as described in Section 00700 - General Conditions, Article 5., per the County of Accomack’s “General Terms and Conditions and Instructions to Bidders”, Paragraph 30 – Performance Bond and Payment Bond. The County of Accomack reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject Bids. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the date of bid opening except in accordance with Section 2.2-4330 of the Code of Virginia, as amended. The County has selected the first procedure for withdrawal of bids as set forth in the sections of the Code as noted above.
