Pitts Landing Wharf Improvements

INVITATION FOR BIDS #684
The County of Accomack, VA is soliciting sealed BIDS for improvements to Pitts Landing Wharf on the Pocomoke River. The work generally consists of the addition of an ADA accessible soft landing for paddle craft; an ADA-compliant approach to the new paddle craft launch and retrieval facility; designated handicapped parking; an ADA-compliant timber ramp to the existing timber wharf; an ADA-compliant restroom facility; a kiosk with interpretive signage to detail the site’s history; and miscellaneous site work.
There will be a MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING on Friday, May 22, 2015, starting no earlier than 10:00 AM at the project site at the end of Bell Road (Rte. 804) in New Church, Virginia.
Sealed BIDS will be received at the County of Accomack, County Administrator's Office, 23296 Courthouse Avenue, Suite 203, POB 388, Accomac, VA 23301, Attn: Darlene Burton, Purchasing & Contracts, 757-787-5700, in writing, no later than 2:00 p.m. according to the official clock in the County Administrator's Office, on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, and then opened at said office and read aloud. BIDS received after such time shall be returned unopened.
BIDS must be submitted on the Bid form provided in the Contract Documents. Each BID must be submitted in a sealed envelope and plainly marked on the outside as “IFB 684 PITTS LANDING” and the envelope should bear on the outside the name of the BIDDER, his address, and his Contractor’s license number for Virginia.
Contract Documents may be examined at the Office of the County Administrator, 23296 Courthouse Avenue, Suite 203, Accomac, Virginia 23301.

Withdrawal of Bids shall be according to procedure § 2.2-4330 of the Code of Virginia, as amended. BIDDERS must be licensed as a Contractor in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Bidder’s attention is directed to the requirements of Title 54.1, Chapter 11, of the Code of Virginia.
The OWNER reserves the right to reject any and all bids, or to contact any Bidder prior to award for explanations or clarifications. The OWNER does not discriminate against any Bidder on any basis.
