County of Accomack
This is an official notice of the upcoming election to be conducted in Accomack County. The Commonwealth of Virginia has called for a Primary Election to be held in Accomack County on August 4, 2026 for the purpose of nominating a candidate for both the Democratic and Republican Parties for the offices of U.S. Senate and Member, House of Representatives, 2nd Congressional District. Should only one candidate qualify for the primary ballot in any office, no primary for that office will be held.
Virginia is an open primary state, which means voters in the State do not have to register by political party. This election will be a dual primary election, which is two separate elections run at the same time. Voters must choose which ballot they will cast-either Democratic or Republican. A voter MAY NOT vote in both primaries.
