This is an official notice of the upcoming election to be conducted in Accomack County. The Commonwealth of Virginia has called for a statewide special referendum election to be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, for a proposed constitutional amendment. The ballot will contain the following question:

"Question: Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia's standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?"

All Voters are asked to provide a valid ID at the time of voting or they will be asked to sign an ID Confirmation Statement to vote a regular ballot.

For individuals who choose to vote by mail, please see VA Code § 24.2-708 for guidelines regarding defaced, unused/unmarked, and lost/never received ballots.
