MINUTES OF THE ACCOMACK COUNTY ELECTORAL BOARD

March 6, 2018

The meeting was called to orderat 1:00 P.M.  by Chairman Dr. Roger Omwake.  Also present were, Marcia Fields and Nancy Drury Duncan, Secretary, and Registrar Patricia White.

The first order of business was the annual election of officers of the Electoral Board. The election was as follows. Dr. Roger Omwake, chairman, Marcia Fields, Vice-Chairman, Nancy Drury Duncan, Secretary.

The minutes of the last meeting were approved.

Board  members appointed election officials for the May town elections. Ms. White gave the board the names of officials who declined to work as the appointments in each precinct  were discussed.

Ms. White informed the board that a liason from Richmond would be visiting the Shore  on March 26, 2018 at 9:00 A.M. we were told we were welcome to come and meet her.

Ms. White updated the board with a discussion of VERIS

There was a discussion of ballots and the number to be ordered for the town elections.  The possibility of  of having a dual Primary in June was discussed. Dates for activities  board members must be available to do for town elections were noted.  March 30, take poll books to chiefs. Election official training, Monday April 23, Tuesday, April 24.  Visiting polling places on May 1, , Canvass of the vote May 2, 2018.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:30 P.M.

Minutes of Accomack County Electoral Board meeting  on May 2, 2018.

The meeting held to canvass the town election results was called to order at 12:05 P.M. by Chairman Dr. Roger Omwake. Present were Vice-Chair Marcia Fields, Secretary Nancy Drury Duncan and General Registrar Patricia White.

Board members  entered an executive session to discuss minor problems that arose the day before with the election.

The  canvass of the precincts was completed at 2:15 P.M.

The board discussed  which election officials to use for the upcoming dual primary election.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:00 P.M.
