On Tuesday November 5, 2019 there will be a General Election to elect Virginia General Assembly members to the Senate and House. All Accomack County Constitutional Officers except for the Clerk of Court will be on the ballot as well as the Board of Supervisors and School Board members in all nine districts. Soil and Water directors are also elected this November, we will elect two. If a June Primary is held the date for that election is June 11, 2019.
You will vote in your normal polling place on the 6th and the polls are open on election day from 6:00am –7:00pm.
The last day to Register to vote for anyone who is not currently registered or to make changes to a current registration prior to the General Election is October 15, 2019 by 5:00p.m. If a Primary is held the last day is May 20, 2019
If for any reason you will not be able to go to the polls on Election Day you may vote an Absentee Ballot. You can apply for an absentee ballot by mail, visit the Department of Elections website at elections.virginia.gov or by coming to the Office of the General Registrar in Accomac at 23312 Courthouse Ave. Call 757-787-2935 or 757-824-0525. You may apply for an Absentee Ballot for an election any time during the year in which the election will be held. Absentee voting for the November 5th Election will begin by mid September.
- The last day to request an Absentee Ballot by mail for the November 5, 2019 election is October 29, 2018 by 5:00p.m. If a June Primary is held: June 4, 2019
- The last day to vote an Absentee Ballot in person for the November 5, 2019 election is Saturday, November 2, 2019 by 5:00pm. If a June Primary is held: June 8, 2019. The office will be open our normal business hours on these dates.
